Using Framer to build websites as a design agency
We're using Framer for selected projects at 14islands.
We built the HeroKit website with it and are developing company sites for some clients with Framer.
Framer is a fine fit when clients need websites quickly or when content trumps advanced interactivity. It has a nice balance between ease of use and the ability to create unique website designs. It’s not as versatile as writing custom code, but that‘s also the point —speed and focus over flexibility and refinements.
Framer is an excellent fit for creatives familiar with Figma and ready to dive into the responsive and technical aspects of the web. Those tools have a similar UI while the outcome are different - a design with Figma vs a production ready website with Framer.
It's easy to stick with old methods, but design agencies should embrace No Code tools like everyone else, as it's the suitable hammer for some nails.
Notes: I'm not sponsored by Framer. I think it’s a good tool and like to share tips. I've also met some smart/friendly people from their team.
