Meeting an erupting volcano at Fagradalsfjall.
It was 2am on Thursday as we saw the red glow from Reykjavík.
We were on our way home when the impulsive urge hit us: “Let’s explore the volcano!”
No logic, other than to seize the opportunity as it presented itself.
We picked up our hiking gear and followed the red light into the night.
At 3am, we were at the root of the mountain.
At 4am, the volcano was spouting flame in front of us in all its glory. Much power and beauty 🌋👀
