People will resist new technology.

It was true for the radio, TV, phones, cars, internet, and AI.

The naysayers are loud in the early days.

After a few years, the tech goes mainstream, and the naysayers will use it like everyone else.

But at the start, it's easiest to oppose.

New tech has problems and limitations, so it's easy to say it will never be good.

New tech is expensive to develop, so it's easy to say it will never be affordable for ordinary people.

New tech is exploited by fraudsters and hackers, so it's easy to say it will be dangerous to society.

Then, there is a breaking point, and the tech becomes mainstream.

It sometimes even falls into the background, and we don't think of it as "tech" anymore.

Limitations are solved. Prices go down because of scaling laws. Security holes are filled, and regulations are made.

It was inevitable all the time.

Please consider the next time you discuss new tech such as AI, XR, and web3.
